Supervision is provided for residents interested in Cognitive-Behavioral and Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy, with integration of Existential and Systems based models, with optional Christian Counseling integration (based on resident/client preference). Services supervised include multifaceted treatments for all DSM IV TR conditions and disorders with specialization in disorders and conditions with components of grief, loss, post traumatic stress, other mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, eating disorders, and sexual disorders. Supervision for relationship counseling and counseling within a multicultural perspective is also provided.
In addition to clinical supervision of treatment protocols, supervision services include appropriate components of personal coaching and career development relevant to the licensure process and to development of professional identity. Treatment populations may include clients receiving services from residents in a variety of settings and for residents serving individuals, groups, couples, and families, of all age ranges. If appropriate to the individual resident, supervision also includes private practice management and ethical practice guidelines for individual practitioners, establishing networks with other professionals (Psychiatrists, Family Physicians, Psychologists, Counselors/Therapists to ensure continuity of care), and 3rd party payers (including ethical, efficacious practice within 3rd party payer guidelines) which serves to prepare the resident for working independently as a licensed practitioner. Through the supervision process, the goal is to develop the resident’s clinical skills while guiding the resident through the licensure process and facilitating preparation for the licensure examination.
